Dynamic Thiol / Disulfide Homeostasis a promising new marker in the diagnosis of Acute Appendicitis in Children

Objectives: One of the most common emergency surgery in pediatric is due to acute appendicitis (AA). The diagnosis AA usuallymade using with clinical score signs, symptoms, and laboratory tests. But symptoms signs are not always typical, andthis situation put clinician a compelling situation. range misdiagnosis between 28-57 % 2-12 years old children.Thiol/ Disulphide homeostasis an important indicator oxidative stress inflammation. This study aimed evaluate compare thefeasibility thiol/disulphide levels patients abdominal pain (AP).Methods: In this case-control three different group established 25 healthy participants (NCG), pain(PCG), (AAG). Demographics, white blood cell count, neutrophil-lymphocyte counts, hemoglobin, platelet, mean plateletvolume, C-reactive protein, total thiol (TT), native thiol, (NT) disulphide (DS) measure through samples.Results: According our result, level NT were significantly lower AAG when compared NCG PCG (p<0.001). DS weresignificantly higher than CRP both those p<0.001).Conclusion: Thiol/disulphide valuable method examine patients. Fluctuations could be used as marker daily practice for appendicitis.
